Project:

Female veterans’ physical healthcare needs and support preferences

Project Summary:

Little is known about UK female veterans’ physical healthcare needs and support preferences. To address this, the CMWR is leading a research project involving a collaboration with four other organisations with significant expertise in academic research and in providing specialist statutory and charitable healthcare services to veterans: King’s College London (King’s Centre for Military Health Research), Leeds Beckett University (on behalf of the Royal British Legion and the BattleBack Centre), the Veterans’ Trauma Network (Imperial College London) and the Defence Medical Welfare Service.

Our findings will be used to provide recommendations for developing and improving care pathways and service delivery for female veterans in the UK.

The research is funded by the Government Office for Veterans’ Affairs and will run until Autumn 2024.
