Project summary:
“Pregnancy and Military Service: Understanding the Experiences of British Army Servicewomen” is a PhD project by Kirsten Morris exploring how pregnancy is experienced by women serving in the British Army and how military policies shape those experiences. By bringing together personal accounts and policy analysis, it aims to improve understanding of pregnancy in military service.
Using diaries and interviews with currently serving Army personnel alongside analysis of military pregnancy policies and guidance, this research explores how pregnancy is understood, managed, and experienced within the British Army. The project examines how policy influences everyday experiences and how servicewomen navigate, challenge, and respond to expectations during pregnancy.
