Project:

Female veterans’ experience of government and charities

Project Summary:

As part of the VFI’s ‘We Also Served’ report, published in June 2021, a significant gap in knowledge regarding the needs and experiences of women veterans within UK support services was identified. This project aims to provide an in-depth understanding of women veterans’ needs and experiences of government and charity service provision in the UK, as well as their experiences in military and civilian life, to develop recommendations for the Office of Veteran Affairs to improve charity and statutory provision for women veterans.

This project is funded by the Office for Veterans Affairs at the Cabinet Office and runs until Spring 2023.

Participate in this project:

This project is still recruiting participants. We are looking to speak to 100 women veterans from across the devolved nations of the UK. Currently, we are particularly interested in hearing from:

  • Women veterans residing in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
  • Women veterans of the Royal Navy.
  • Women veterans from ethnic minorities.
