Project:

Public attitudes towards women in the military community

Project Summary:

In 2022, an Ipsos Mori household survey was commissioned by the CMWR to explore public perceptions and attitudes towards servicewomen and women veterans in the UK. This survey was commissioned following evidence in the VFI’s ‘We Also Served’ report, which observed that women veterans do not feel that their service is recognised by the general public. Questions were co-designed with representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Office for Veterans Affairs, NHS England and NHS Improvement, the Forces in Mind Trust and the Cobseo Female Veterans Cluster.

This project analyses responses from a representative UK sample of over 2000 households to provide an understanding of public attitudes towards military women in modern Britain.
